2012 PCLC Events

August 2012

The Perry County Fair Chili Cook-off is planned, organized and operated by Bill Gillenwater and a team of volunteers, supporters of the Perry County Literacy Council. Volunteer cooks set up booths and sell samples of chili for 25 cents. Customers can put money in their favorite chili cook’s jar. Tips are welcome. At the end of the day, the money is collected. The booth with the most money in the jar receives “The People’s Choice Award”. Other awards including “Best Booth” and “Judges’ Choice” are based on volunteer judges’ votes. WQLV FM Radio supports this event with a live broadcast, contests and prizes. All funds raised at this event are donated to the Council. http://www.WQLVFM.com

Please consider attending this event in August, 2013, the 10th Anniversary of the Perry County Fair Chili Cook-Off.
